Our Future Electrical Engineers
Meet Seb: One of our new Electrical Engineering Apprentices
Delta Rock is proud to be an advocate for apprenticeships, and we’re excited to introduce you to one of our latest apprentices to join the Delta Rock family.
Seb joined Delta Rock in July as an electrical engineering apprentice. While he started his journey with the intention of pursuing the installation route, his passion for the electrical field led him to shift his focus towards industrial electrical engineering.
The Curiosity of an Engineer
From a young age, Seb was always keen to know how something worked, leading to him all too often taking a toy apart! This wasn’t always great when it came to putting things back together, but as time progressed, he honed his skills.
Seb’s inquisitive mind remains and fuels his passion for various hobbies. He enjoys restoring old clocks and experimenting with circuit boards to build electrical equipment. Both pursuits demand patience and precision, qualities Seb takes great pride in.
It is therefore no surprise that Seb wanted to work in a job that was practical and needed an expert hand.
From Domestic to Industrial Electrical Sector
Before joining Delta Rock, Seb gained valuable experience working in the domestic electrical sector. Seb made the decision not to pursue the route to university but to follow his passion of working in a more practical, hands-on skilled environment.
On leaving school, Seb took the role of a trainee, working for a local electrician in the domestic sector. This provided him with experience and a foundation in electrical work, from rewiring old buildings to installing systems in high-end properties.
However, as time went on, Seb realised to reach his full potential and progress his career, he needed to gain a professional qualification. To achieve this, he needed the structure and support of a larger and more professional engineering business.
A New Chapter at Delta Rock
After researching local electrical businesses, which would provide Seb with the support and opportunities he wanted, he came across Delta Rock. Seeing that we offered apprenticeships led Seb to apply.
After successful interviews, Seb secured an apprenticeship with us.
Seb has already embraced the opportunities and challenges that come with working in industrial electrical engineering. He’s quickly grasped the importance of understanding technical drawings and the intricacies of different panel types. Plus, he’s enjoying the collaborative environment at Delta Rock and the support he receives from the array of qualified and experienced colleagues he works with.
What Seb enjoys most about his role so far:
- Working with a diverse team: Seb values the camaraderie and shared knowledge among his colleagues.
- The variety of work: Every project presents a new challenge and opportunity to learn.
- Continuous learning: Delta Rock’s commitment to developing its apprentices is something Seb appreciates and enthusiastically grabs all the opportunities presented.
A Bright Future Ahead
We’re thrilled to have Seb on board and look forward to supporting him as he develops his skills and knowledge. His enthusiasm and dedication are a great asset to our team and something we reward and want to continue to support.
Good luck Seb, as you continue to build your knowledge and skills, and we look forward to you progressing further with Delta Rock.
